Recent research evidence suggests that COVID-related stressors may more heavily impact people with anxiety-related disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder than those with mood-related conditions (e.g., depression) or individuals without current mental health concerns. This research aimed to examine the impact of COVID-19 related stress by measuring anxiety and distress-related behaviours in a Persian sample with the Persian-CSS. The findings indicated that patients with OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, and panic disorders were associated with higher self-report of COVID-19 stress-related behaviours than patients with social anxiety disorder or phobias. Patients with panic disorder tended to exhibit more significant concern for potential danger, contamination, and a dislike of others from other countries not of their own than patients diagnosed with OCD. The findings from this study provided support for the use of the Persian version of the COVID Stress Scales measurement with good validity and reliability.
